Luckily, the course is very accessible and it won’t cost you too much to play. The typical cost on a weekday to play here is $30, which goes up to $40 on the weekends.
2. Angeles National Golf Club
The Angeles National Golf Club is another great place to get your golfing fix. This course is the only course that was designed by the great Jack Nicklaus, the great Hall of Fame player.

3. Balboa Golf Club

The Balboa Golf Club opened up in 1954. The course was expanded to 72 par in 2008 and features narrow fairways. This makes it even more challenging compared to many other golf courses out there.
4. Chester Washington Golf Course
The Chester Washington Golf Course lies due south of freeway 105. This is a par 70 course with rolling hills and greens that are very forgiving, plus tree-lined fairways.
The most famous hole for this golf course is hole number 13. It’s the longest hole of the course and is a par 3 course surrounded by trees as well as a false green.
5. DeBell Golf Club
The DeBell Golf Club is another great golfing spot in Los Angeles.
This is a par 71 course, with challenging shifts in elevation. The most famous hole for this golf course is hole number 11 because at this hole you can’t see over the top of the hill.
You can find the DeBell golf club between Burbank Starlight Bowl in the Wildwood Canyon Park.
6. Diamond Bar Golf Course
The Diamond Bar Golf Course is another great public golf course to check out for a great day of golfing.
Designed by William F. Bell, this beautiful public course opened up in 1963. It’s lined with plenty of trees that will give you peace while you’re escaping from the everyday.
You can find this golf course along the 60 Freeway on the Eastern edge of the San Fernando Valley.
7. El Cariso Golf Course
If you’re looking for the best public golf courses in Los Angeles, the El Cariso Golf Course is another spot you need to add to your list. This course opened up in 1977 with a design from Robert Muir Graves, the architect.
This course is relatively easy and lies near the western edge of the Angeles National Forest. There are outstanding views in this area as it is surrounded by nature.
8. Encino Golf Course

Located in Encino, California, William P. Bell & Sons designed and opened up this course in 1957 in the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area. The northern border of this golf course is in the Los Angeles River.
